Leadership Empowerment Center Empowers Youth To Become Leaders Of Leaders.

Leadership Empowerment Center exists to aid in bringing resolution to our youth's problems by meeting the spiritual, academic, and social needs of the youth in the Frayser community through bible study, club, discipleship, tutoring, and recreational activities.

The majority of the population of youth we serve are from single parent households. They are the under resourced and the high risk youth in the Frayser community in grades K-12. We currently serve youth in the following Frayser schools: Georgian Hills Elementary, Hawkins Mill Elementary, Georgian Hills Middle, Frayser High, and Trezevant High.

Vision

To empower youth to become leaders of leaders that will reproduce their leadership qualities into the lives of others to empower their home, school and community with the gospel of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.

Mission

To meet the holistic needs of youth in our surrounding community by innovatively and creatively proclaiming the gospel of Jesus Christ.

History

Leadership Empowerment Center, formerly known as Youth Visions, was first organized in the fall of 1995 in the bottom of a United Methodist Church in the Frayser Community. In the summer of 1999, God opened the doors for LEC to purchase the building at its current location across from Georgian Hills Middle School, which has proven to be an ideal location to do ministry given the large youth population.  In 2012, the name was changed from Youth Visions to Leadership Empowerment Center as a stronger representation of what the organization is all about.
